So my job is all about connection: bridging the gap between players and game teams, making sure the right feedback lands in the right place at the right time. I absolutely love seeing ideas take shape, evolve, and ultimately make our games better, together. There’s something magical about that feedback loop as it keeps us constantly improving, constantly learning.
What sets Supercell apart? Freedom and creativity. I’m a free spirit, and nothing kills creativity faster than being stuck in a box. Many companies operate on last-minute requests and rigid structures, but here, we think big! We brainstorm, experiment, and bring ideas to life that no one has tried before. That’s what makes this place special.
And here’s something I didn’t expect: Supercell doesn’t just hire you for a single role. Sure, you come in with a title, but if you’re curious and driven, you can expand way beyond it. I wanted to experiment with new content marketing styles, so I picked up Blender for Clash Mini. No one told me to do it, I just could. That’s the kind of place this is.
The Shanghai office has been an exciting challenge. It’s a younger office, meaning the team is actively shaping its own culture. Every team has its own rituals and its own way of working, and that’s what makes it so unique. When I worked on Clash Mini, it took time to get into a rhythm, but once we did? Everything clicked. Every day felt fresh, dynamic, and full of collaboration.
And let’s talk about Shanghai itself. This city moves fast. It never stops. And that’s a constant reminder that if you’re not evolving, you’re falling behind. It’s also insanely convenient. If you thrive in an international environment with endless energy, this is the place to be.
The best part? Supercell makes life easier. If there’s a problem, you surface it, and the team works together to solve it. Need better tools? Better equipment? A better work setup? Done. That level of support isn’t common, and I’m grateful every day to be surrounded by people who truly care. They care about the games, about the culture, and about making great things happen.

Supercell is the first game company I’ve worked at. Accepting the job offer a decade ago remains one of my best career decisions. Time really does fly.
I work as a Game Producer on the Clash Royale team, but you might be surprised to know that this is already the third role I’ve taken on at Supercell; each a result of my pursuit to make a bigger impact.
Taking a Leap of Faith
In 2015, I worked as a project manager when a headhunter reached out: “They are from Finland and make games. This is a great opportunity.”
I wasn’t actively searching for a new job or thought about gaming as a potential career. But after learning about Supercell’s games and culture and going through the interview process, I took a bet: if I could prove my ability to drive impact, the company would support me in evolving my role. That bet paid off.
A Culture That Enables Growth

I started as an Office Manager. After a couple of years, Community Localization and Esports Production became my day-to-day work. Later, I joined the Clash Mini team as a Game Champion and Localization Specialist. Joining a game team was a big deal and allowed to deepen my understanding of game development!
Eventually, I was ready to transition to a Game Producer role first in Clash Mini and then to Clash Royale. It’s been quite a journey!

Hi, I’m Sayu, a nonbinary 2D artist from Brazil! I work as an environment designer at Supercell on Project Rise. Supercell has always been a major artistic reference and career goal for me, and I’m happy to say that being here has exceeded my expectations. It’s not just about the creative freedom to build something amazing, but also about the collaboration and connection between people.
It’s inspiring to be surrounded by incredibly talented individuals, all pushing themselves to do their best. And as a Supercellian, you’re always discovering new opportunities to improve yourself as the company supports you and your family.
I’ve been living in Shanghai for quite a while now and have had the chance to visit the main office in Finland. I can confidently say that Shanghai has its own unique magic. To be honest, when I applied, I never considered moving to Asia, but I took the leap because of the company. It’s been a life-changing decision!
The studio even invited me to visit the city before relocating, which made the transition much easier. Shanghai is massive and full of life; there’s always something new to explore. The subway system is extensive and easily accessible, making it simple to get around.
One of the biggest challenges I've faced as a Brazilian has been adapting to cultural differences and the time zone shift. Fortunately, the company offers support to help with these adjustments. Plus, there’s a strong Brazilian community in the city, with restaurants and events that bring a taste of home.
I’m incredibly grateful to Supercell for this amazing opportunity and for making it possible for me to bring my cats along with me!

Supercell is full of ridiculously talented people, and the best part of my job? Helping them shine. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone unlock their full creative potential. It make our games better and fuels a team-wide cycle of innovation. When one person thrives, we all do.
Before joining, I didn’t realize how deeply trust is woven into the culture. There’s no micromanagement, no endless layers of approval. You’re trusted to make the right calls and own your work. And the diversity? Genuine. It’s not just about where you’re from, but how your perspective adds value. Also, fun fact: not all Finns are introverts!
Being part of a Helsinki project while working from the Shanghai office has been its own adventure (time zones, long-haul flights). But the support team? Absolute lifesavers. They turn logistical nightmares into seamless collaborations, making sure we can focus on why we’re here: creating unforgettable games for our player.

It wasn’t until I joined Supercell here in Shanghai that I realized how small the company really is, and how fast that makes us. We get things done together. It's a simple answer, because at Supercell the objectives are clear and the trust is absolute, so there is very little that gets in the way of making games.
Having been a part of a large organisation before, I was used to feeling anonymous, but here I felt genuinely welcomed and trusted from day one. What continues to impress me is the depth of talent in every team.
The best thing about Shanghai for me are the people – hands down some of the kindest people I’ve met.

I was prepared to be joining a company where teams and individuals are granted lots of independence. However I was surprised by how flat the organization actually is. The small team size allows us to make quick decisions while trust allows us to experiment with confidence. For me, independence is the key: everyone gets to make decisions and we don’t need to worry about leadership breathing down our necks.
Having worked several years in Los Angeles, life in Shanghai feels easier. Our family enjoys the safety and convenience the city has to offer. You can get so much done by a few taps on your phone.
